5 Effective Affiliate Marketing Strategies Used by Pros

The pros know exactly how to create great affiliate marketing strategies but they don’t see themselves as experts. Instead, they learn from their existing and past strategies and improve upon their techniques. After all, the speed of the Internet is evolving and growing and there is always going to be room for changes and improvements. Thus, the first affiliate marketing strategy any professional marketer will tell you is to…

Never Get Over Confident About Your Strategies

The second you start thinking that you’ve got it made is the second you start failing. Just look at the rate the Internet is developing. In 1995, 0.4% of the world’s population began to use the Internet; that’s about 16 million people. By the end of the year 2000, 361 million people were online. Last June, over 33% of the world’s population used the Internet. But more importantly, what worked in 1995 does not apply anymore. Why? This is simply because in 1995, computer geeks were the only ones using the Internet and they had to work with computers the size of walk-in closets. The Internet grew rapidly and became a profitable option because there were people who were willing to grow with it and adjust to its changing environment.

For example, when the World Wide Web began to pick up, we had marketing strategies like Pop Up ads. This quickly because inundated with viruses and spam material. Today, no self-respecting affiliate marketer would touch a pop up ad marketing strategy with a ten foot pole. And this applies with many other earlier marketing strategies.

Strategy Two – Offer Freebies

There are many ways to create interest and even intrigue (especially if you offer freebies or online coupons). Geotargeting is one of most recent marketing strategies for mobile devices. Once a potential customer enters a specific geotargeted zone, a marketing promotion is sent out with tempting offers for items within a specific radius. Once the mobile device owner leaves the specified area, the offer is no longer valid.

Strategy Three – Collect Data like email addresses

You need to market to people and not be considered as spam or someone who is sending out malware. To do this, you must get people on your mailing list who want to be on that list. It’s called permission marketing and it prevents messy marketing and bad feedback.

Strategy Four – Use Content Wisely

The worst strategy would be to re-post articles because it’s just lazy. Create your own or hire someone to do it for you – and you will see a vast improvement in your affiliate marketing efforts. You should also keep updating your content regularly because it encourages people to follow or subscribe to your site.

Strategy Five – Don’t Rely on One Strategy But Don’t Confuse With Too Many At The Same Time

There has to be a perfect balance between avoiding the hell of being called “boring” and the deep blue sea tag of being “messed up.” One marketing strategy is not good enough but having too many on your plate will not only confuse your customers and potential buyers, it will also create chaos in your organization. For instance, don’t offer free stuff and then confuse everyone by also offering the choice of a discount instead on the same item! Make a choice and then when that gets old, shift to a new plan.

The road to being a professional affiliate marketer starts the minute you sign up with a program so choose wisely the best affiliate network and the program suggested by them. The success can happen within days – you just need to work smart.

Internet Marketing Services: What Should You Engage In?

For those new to building businesses online or taking a traditional business to online, internet marketing is equivalent to a mythical beast of elusive nature. Building a website alone is complicated enough even with a web designer working on it, but now internet marketing? Search engine optimization? Social media marketing? Videos? Podcasting? Wait, will the list ever end?

Such as the perplexing questions one will have in her mind if she is not familiar with internet marketing at all. It gets worse when so-called gurus try to bombard with pitches on their services which deliver the world only at cost of $998.238 to make sure you generate $1234.5678 in net revenue a week from your website. With things like this, internet marketing can’t be legit, right?

Fortunately internet marketing is a real deal. A bona fide set of methods which you can use together with traditional marketing strategies to maximize your revenue and deliver cost-effective messages to widest audience possible. But if you are completely baffled about all internet marketing mumbo-jumbo, then you will need to know what internet marketing services you should pursue. Without knowing what will fit your needs and your target market, you will just be wasting your money.

“Know Thy Market, First”

Internet marketing is just like any regular marketing, it deals with people – individuals who have problems and want to solve those by buying your products and services. It only uses Internet to deliver your marketing messages and information to people in your target market plus more. Nothing magical or confusing here.

If you have decided to engage in internet marketing services, you absolutely must know about your customers. You have to know where they go, what they like, what their demographics and sociographics profiles are, which websites they usually go, what social networks they are, what time they are mostly active online, where they are looking for your products, what influence their decisions and… well, you get the picture.

Without knowing your customers, you cannot target and direct any of your marketing efforts, be it traditional or online, to be efficient and effective.

Now that it is clear you need to know about your market first, let’s get down to details about internet marketing services.

“Search Engine Optimization”

Search Engine Optimization (“SEO”) is a process to push your website to be in top 10 spots of first page in search engines when people search for related terms to your business. 90% of internet users use search engines to find information they want. And most of them pay attention only to top 10 results. If your website is in there, you are guaranteed to gain a lot of visitors. This kind of ranking is something you cannot buy. It is a process which an internet marketing professional can help you with.

“Email Marketing”

No, not those spam mails we all hate. There are truly legitimate ways to use email as a marketing tool without being annoying or sending spams. Internet marketing professionals can help you build a list of email newsletter subscribers who are willingly giving their contacts to you to send them emails, and also help you to run regular email newsletter to keep your subscribers updated about whatever information you want them to know. It is similar to warm-approach in traditional marketing.

“Videos Distribution”

Very high percentage of today’s internet usage is in videos. YouTube, Vimeo and alike are very popular for several reasons. It is undeniable that people tend to pay more attention to video contents than texts. Online marketing experts can help you create suitable videos for your business and rank them in search engines, along with distributing those using social networks to attract maximum eyeballs. And speaking of which…

“Social Networks”

Basically social networks are where people hang out online to talk about their interests, daily happenings, post photos they shot or like, share information, news and gossips and generally doing social activities. We all have one. It is pretty certain you know what Facebook is.

Marketers can tap into these social networks to actually increase brand awareness, brand exposure and increase revenues. You need to find if your target market is suitable for which social networking platform. Chances are, you will find them on one or another. Online marketers can help you build campaigns to reach out to them with suitable messages without trying to sell too much.

Affiliate Marketing Strategies – 2 Steps to Find a Hot Niche, 3 Steps to Select a Winning Product

Confused about what to sell as an affiliate? Worried your affiliate marketing strategies will fail? Top affiliates sell what people are already buying. Here’s how to find a hot niche and winning product.

Two Steps to Selecting a Hot Niche

Go to ClickBank and choose one of the nine categories. Whichever one strikes your fancy works fine as you’ll find gold in all of them. Leave the keyword field empty and browse through the products using Sort by: Popularity. This will reveal which niches and products sell well.

1) Test interest level.

Look at the last item in the line under each product listed–grav. A big number after grav shows the niche has ready buyers. If you chose the computing and internet category in ClickBank, you may see a registry cleaner in the top spot and with a high grav number.

Test this with the Google keyword tool (KeywordToolExternal) where you search for a general term for the niche. Search for registry cleaners in the keyword tool. A monthly search volume of 5000 is good, more is great. Still looking good, right?

2) Test competition level.

First, look for at least three competing products in ClickBank. There are more than three registry cleaners.

Second, with your browser do a Google search for “registry cleaner” and see how many Google Ads appear on the right. Five or six ads indicate that affiliates make money from their ads. When I checked there were eight ads. You’re ready to find which product to pick.

Three Steps to Selecting a Winning Product

1) Look for healthy ClickBank statistics. See the line of symbols/numbers in the ClickBank search results you got before? Here’s what those notations mean to you.

  • $/sale — average amount earned per affiliate per sale, a number that can be driven down by refunds and chargebacks. If the number is less than the next number (we’ll get to that in a minute), it’s a signal that customers demand refunds. Not so good.
  • Total $/sale — Go for a minimum of $20 to profit from your affiliate marketing efforts.
  • %/sale — average percentage commission earned per affiliate per sale. You want at least 50%.
  • %refrd — fraction of product owner’s total sales that are referred by affiliates. You want to see 70-90% as that suggests lots of affiliates make a generous commission on this product.
  • grav: numerals — an estimate of the number of affiliates with at least one sale in the last 30 days. Look for a product with 50-100 which indicates affiliates do sell it, but not too many, so there’s room for you at the table.

When you find a product that has all the right numbers, and you will, go on to step two. ErrorFix and RegDefense numbers look good.

2) Look for a professional sales page.

A good sales page is crucial to your success. Visit the sales page, read it and see if it motivates YOU to buy. Some great products have lousy sales pages that turn off customers. Pass up a bad sales page. If you like the sales page, go on to step three. Luckily, most are good. ErrorFix and RegDefense sales pages look good.

3) Check for ready affiliate marketing tools.

Go to the product web site and check out the affiliates section. You don’t want to rely entirely on your own devices and have to invent enticements. More and more smart product owners supply you with a wide array of tools like PPC keywords, ad copy, email ad copy, banners and support. Both ErrorFix and RegDefense offer lots of tools–everything but sample articles.

So these two products pass all the tests. With these new affiliate marketing strategies on how to find a hot niche and select a winning product people already buy, you can finally succeed as an affiliate.
